It is Holiday Season! Here are some top tips to help you get the most of your holiday with your four legged friend!
The sun has come out and the temperatures have risen – it is summer holiday time! Lots of pet owners holiday with their dogs and we have compiled some top tips to help you get the most of your holiday with your four legged friend!
Preparation is Key
Doing a little preparation work in advance of your holiday will help you all better enjoy your time away. Always check and see if dogs are welcome at your accommodation/attraction/pub. The last thing you want is to turn up to find restrictions on the ability of your four legged friend joining in.
Safe and Calm Travels
One of the biggest areas of concern for owners when holidaying with their dogs is car travel. Slowly, get them used to longer periods of time in the car ahead of the staycation. Plan regular comfort breaks so they can have a toileting opportunity and stretch their legs. Consider using a calming supplement like Kalm Aid, which has been specially formulates for nervous or anxious dogs in stress-related situations like travelling.
Comfort in the Familiar
Going on holiday can bring many new experiences for dogs. Make sure to bring items that will make your dog feel more comfortable in these new environments – their own bed (full of familiar smells), their usual food and some of their favourite toys.
Capture the Memories
One of the best things about a staycation with your dog is the uninterrupted time you get together! We know you will love going on adventures together so take lots of photos and enjoy the fun!
